Attack This: New Gadgetry

Posted by Eugene Morton - Monday, April 14, 2008 4:46 PM

The next time you see fit to complain about the shortcomings of technology, keep today’s gadgets in mind. They allow you to transport information (digital information in this case) across long distances and have fun doing it.

In days gone by you’d need a telegraph to do the same job, or heaven forbid, you’d have to utilize those long forgotten things known as books. We’ve come a long way, baby and don’t you forget it.

It’s Effin’ Science

Posted by Eugene Morton - Monday, April 14, 2008 4:46 PM

Remember in high school when you thought that science was lame, you hated your biology teacher and you couldn’t care less about covalent bonds? Well, that’s because no one ever gave you the right motivation. You were always doing the boring stuff like mixing Chloric acid with Dihydrogen Monoxide.

Who cares about that?  Wouldn’t you have rather done an experiment that tested the elasticity of condoms? Sure, you would have, but there was no way the board of education was going to approve that.

Lucky for you, we’re much more open-minded about the learning process. Get your lab coat and goggles ready, because on today’s show we’ll perform some of the most outrageous and exciting experiments ever (the kind you never got the chance to do in chemistry class) and show you that mixing chemicals isn’t boring, because it’s effin’ science!

Today’s experiment is Fireballs.

The Loop: Yahoo Keeps Up The Fight

Posted by Eugene Morton - Monday, April 14, 2008 11:39 AM

Like a love unrequited, Yahoo continues to resist Microsoft’s advances. It’s doing everything it can to avoid being swallowed up by the tech giant, including trying to merge with AOL, engaging in a limited partnership with Google, making its influence known on Flickr and much more.

Yahoo’s efforts may yet save it from the house that Bill Gates built, but that remains to be seen. The question on everyone’s mind remains, who's going to end up with Yahoo?

To answer that question, we’ll welcome the Deputy Editor of Special Projects for Forbes, David Ewalt.
