The Auditions: 'Warm Me Up'

Do you know why we love Rock Band and Guitar Hero more than we do our family and friends? It’s because those games bring together our two biggest obsessions; music and videogames. Not unlike the music video for "Warm Me Up" by The Auditions. In addition to the song totally rocking, the video is extra cool because it’s loaded with clips from the survival horror classic, Obscure: The Aftermath. Why not give it a look-see?

Attack This: Gear For Super Spies

Posted by Eugene Morton - Friday, March 21, 2008 4:46 PM

The life of a spy is cool, or so the movies would have us believe. There are unbelievable gadgets and weapons, along with a ton of beautiful women (if the James Bond movies are accurate). However, we bet it’s also a lot of work and we’re more about play than work here on AOTS.

So, instead of enlisting in a government program, training for years to be a super agent and then risking your life, just use today’s products (in accordance with the laws of your state) and live out an espionage fantasy instead.

It’s Effin’ Science

Posted by Eugene Morton - Friday, March 21, 2008 4:34 PM

Remember in high school when you thought that science was lame, you hated your biology teacher and you couldn’t care less about covalent bonds? Well, that’s because no one ever gave you the right motivation. You were always doing the boring stuff like mixing Chloric acid with Dihydrogen Monoxide.

Who cares about that?  Wouldn’t you have rather done an experiment that tested the elasticity of condoms? Sure, you would have, but there was no way the board of education was going to approve that.

Lucky for you, we’re much more open-minded about the learning process. Get your lab coat and goggles ready, because on today’s show we’ll perform some of the most outrageous and exciting experiments ever (the kind you never got the chance to do in chemistry class) and show you that mixing chemicals isn’t boring, because it’s effin’ science!

Today’s experiment is the Ring of Fire.

They’ll make your mind asplode! Asplode, we say! Keep a look out for more behind the scenes stuff on Monday.

Kevin Jams With Coheed and Cambria

If you didn’t know by watching our E3 coverage and AOTS, Kevin’s pretty good at Rock Band. Actually, that’s an understatement; he’s perhaps the best Rock Band drummer in the entire office.

We wanted to see if his skills on the plastic snare and pedal translated into real world talent and to help us objectively measure his ability we acquired the aid of rockers, Coheed and Cambria.

The Loop: Apple Offering Unlimited Music?

Posted by Eugene Morton - Friday, March 21, 2008 12:49 PM

In a perfect world, you’d be able to pay a flat rate each month to legally download all of the music you want. Apple may be trying to make that perfect world a reality.

Rumors are swirling about that suggest that the company is trying to provide unlimited music downloads through iTunes for a monthly subscription fee (and perhaps an additional $100 added on to the cost of the iPod/iPhone). Is there any truth to the rumors? If the rumors are true, what would it mean for iTunes and the music industry?

To answer those questions we’ll welcome Editor In Chief for Engadget, Ryan Block.

Women of the Web

Posted by Eugene Morton - Friday, March 21, 2008 10:38 AM

Though our government would have you believe the myth that the internet was created as a means of relaying information during combat missions, we know the truth, it was created so that young men could discover the wonders of the opposite sex. Today, we’re going to use it like it was intended to be used, to ogle hot girls.

However, these aren’t just your garden variety hot girls, they’re the web’s ten hottest babes. We’d tell you to tune in, but there’s no way you’re going to miss the broadcast. The most appropriate thing we can say is, "enjoy!"
