Gadget Pr0n

Posted by Eugene Morton - Wednesday, February 27, 2008 4:54 PM

Every now and again we like to slow things down, dim the lights, lie down by the fireplace (perhaps put on some Barry White) and play with our gadgets. That’s not code for anything; we mean it in a literal sense, so put the whipped cream and strawberries back in the fridge.

After you’ve done that, make sure to grab your remote and tune in for an all new Gadget Pr0n. Our own tech experts will review all of the sexy tech products that drive the ladies (and tech buffs) wild.

Today, they'll review the TWP-800 Tri Band Wrist Watch Phone.

Also, are you a friend to the Earth? Then check out GCycle... it's G4's new initiative to try and get you to be a better person and recycle tech stuff!

Attack This: Implants And Tech Apparel

Posted by Eugene Morton - Wednesday, February 27, 2008 4:46 PM

You know, it’s amazing that we don’t have flying cars yet and we’re not just saying that because the movies told us we’d have them by now. The reason we find it so perplexing is because of the stuff we’re showing you today.

Some of the items and implants literally allow you to control devices with your mind! No kidding. Now, if technology has advanced that far, then why the heck can’t we have a flying whip with 22” rims?

These days, everyone wants to be a filmmaker, but why bother shooting anything if your stuff is going to look like crap? Do you think people are going to take your work seriously if it’s filmed on a web cam or Hi8 camcorder? Probably not.

You need some high end equipment if you’re going to make anything of note, but don’t just run out and buy the first expensive camera you see. First, browse through today’s blogs to get a good idea about what camera is right for you and then go make your masterpiece. We expect an invitation to the world premiere.

The Loop: No Web Democracy

Posted by Eugene Morton - Wednesday, February 27, 2008 11:30 AM

Sites like Wikipedia appeal to a broad audience, because unlike most of the websites on the net, they allow their users to determine and contribute to the site’s content. At least, that’s what they would have you believe.

A recent study has shown that the content on Wikipedia and Digg isn’t decided by the web surfing masses, but by a select minority of users. This, of course, goes against the very premise of these sites by taking power out of the hands of real users. Are social media sites a failed democracy?

To answer that question, we’ll welcome Editorial Assistant for Slate, Chris Wilson and Deputy Editor of Special Projects at Forbes, David Ewalt.

Fresh Ink With Blair Butler

Posted by Eugene Morton - Wednesday, February 27, 2008 11:05 AM

For most of us, comic book shops aren’t merely a place for buying illustrated books about costumed crusaders, they’re a haven, a safe place where we can talk about the titans which occupy worlds that only exist on the printed page and in our collective imagination.

They are a place to seriously discuss the pitfalls and triumphs of the dedicated super heroes we love and malevolent villains we loathe.

For the faithful, they have a sacred quality to them and nothing ruins that feeling of sanctity more than returning home from the local shop for some quality reading time only to discover that you’ve purchased, polybagged and boarded the print and paper equivalent of a Uwe Boll film.

Don’t let that happen. Hear what comic expert Blair Butler has to say about this week’s slew of releases and avoid breaking into another fit of nerd rage.

Today, Blair will review Green Lantern: The Sinestro Corps War- Volume 1, Heart-Shaped Box and The Arrival.
