For comic book fans, Comic-Con, APEcon and WonderCon are the holy triumvirate of conventions. Now, we know that Comic-Con gets the most coverage each year, but there’s just as much nerdy wonder to be found at Wonder-Con (hence the name).

Trust us, this year we’ll give you more Comic-Con than you can shake a lightsaber at, but today we’re going to shine a spotlight on the bay area convention that could and give you just a glimpse of the kind of craziness you’ll get to experience this July in San Diego.

The Loop: Web Shows Going Prime Time?

There are more places to find entertainment than there have ever been. Not only do hundreds of television networks compete for your attention on a daily basis, an ever increasing number of web based television shows try to draw your eyes as well. Still, there seems to be a great divide between traditional TV shows and web based ones. However, one show may break down that barrier forever.

Tonight, Quarterlife makes its debut on network television after spending about a year as an eight minute, web exclusive program. What does mean for internet based shows? Will more of them make the leap from the web to the TV? More immediately, will Quarterlife succeed outside of MySpace?

To answer those questions, we’ll welcome Editor for IGN TV, Eric Goldman and Director of the online series, We Need Girlfriends, Brian Amyot.

DVDuesday With Chris Gore

Chris Gore, expert movie reviewer, co-author of The Complete DVD Book and the guy behind Film Threat is a man who has made DVDs his business and business is good… unless he recommends a DVD as a “rental,” then business is just okay, we guess. Then again, he could recommend a DVD as a “pass” and then business would be bad.

Wait, we’re getting off track here. The point is, new DVDs are coming out and nobody wants to waste their time or money on garbage movies that will eventually end up in the actual garbage. Chris is here to help you avoid that in DVDuesday.

Today's Blu-Ray movies will include The Rock, The Spider-Man Trilogy and Casino Royale.
