Who's Who On YouTube?

Posted by Eugene Morton - Tuesday, February 12, 2008 4:56 PM

There are any number of colorful characters floating around on YouTube. Most of them are talentless hacks just looking for attention or young rapscallions who enjoy humiliating their friends in front of a web audience of millions, but some are a little more unique.

They have something about them that says, “Hey, I want your attention, but the few seconds of your time will be well worth it.” Today, we’re going to shine a spotlight on one of those and show you just who’s who on YouTube.

Today's web celeb is Obama Girl.

Attack This: Harmful If Swallowed

Posted by Eugene Morton - Tuesday, February 12, 2008 4:37 PM

Technology is amoral, neither inherently good nor bad; it’s how it’s used that makes all the difference. For example, nuclear power can safely fuel a home or totally wipe a small country off the face of the earth. Some of today’s technology is just like that, only a little less deadly.

Even though this stuff was designed for good, if misused it could put an eye out and that’s what has us worried, but we’re trusting you to not misuse it like some of those idiots on YouTube would. That said, enjoy the wonders of modern technology.

The Loop: Free Speech On The Web

Posted by Eugene Morton - Tuesday, February 12, 2008 11:31 AM

Our country’s most sacred set of laws, the Constitution grants every citizen certain inalienable rights, the most important of which is the right to free speech. While it’s true that over the course of US history those rights have been unjustly taken from certain individuals and groups, today (for the most part) every citizen and publication has the right to express themselves freely.

The perfect symbol of that freedom is the internet where anyone, no matter how ill informed or immature, can say what they want about anything and at any time. The internet means free speech, or at least it used to.

DVDuesday With Chris Gore

Posted by Eugene Morton - Tuesday, February 12, 2008 10:37 AM

It used to be that if you wanted to experience some big time cinematic thrills you had to go to the theater. Now, with HD TVs that have higher resolution than real life and price tags lower than what a ticket and a small bucket of popcorn costs, who needs to go out anymore?

Heat up some microwave popcorn, pour a glass of soda (or whatever your favorite beverage might be, you’re at home after all) and check out one of the great movies Film Threat’s Chris Gore has in store for you. The author of the The Complete DVD Book wouldn’t steer you wrong.

Afterward, you can not fight the crowds out of the theater and not wade through traffic on your way home. It’s a win, win situation.

Today, Chris is going to review Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Scarface and Killer Condom: The Rubber That Rubs You Out.
