Gadget Pr0n

Posted by Eugene Morton - Friday, February 01, 2008 4:54 PM

Have you ever gone into an electronics store looking for a piece of equipment, lets say a 1080p TV set, to complement your swank bachelor pad and had the salesman try to sell you an over priced, under performing piece of crap? Who cares if he has one of them at home?

From the moment he opens his mouth you get the feeling that he's trying harder to make a sale than he is to help you. We know that sucks and that’s why we came up with Gadget Pr0n. We’re here to inform and enlighten you about all things electronic. Plus, you can trust us, because we don’t get paid based on commission.

On today's show, we'll review the Amazon Kindle.

Also, are you a friend to the Earth? Then check out GCycle... it's G4's new initiative to try and get you to be a better person and recycle tech stuff!

The only way we’re able to recapture that original feeling of exhilaration is by hacking the heck out of it and making it do all sorts of stuff that not even its creators thought it could do.

If you feel the same way, be there when we reveal new hacks for some of today’s hottest gadgets.

The Block Monster Party

Posted by Eugene Morton - Friday, February 01, 2008 1:53 PM

Outsiders believe that all of the action in Aspen happens on the slopes, but it’s not true. The real action happens when the snowboarders and snow bunnies get together for a few cocktails after dark and let’s say, misplace their inhibitions for a while.

Posted by Eugene Morton - Friday, February 01, 2008 11:05 AM

In Tuesday’s edition of The Loop we discussed the recent troubles at Yahoo! and the corporation’s struggle with Google for internet dominance. Now, a third contender has entered the fray and is trying, like Yahoo!, to topple the mighty Google.

That contender is Microsoft, but the house that Windows built is not launching a brand new search engine, it’s trying to buy out Yahoo! Though a Yahoo! owned by Microsoft would indeed be powerful, could it truly compete with Google?

To answer that question, we’ll welcome the Deputy Editor of Special Projects for Forbes, David Ewalt and Peter Kafka, Managing Editor of Silicon Alley Insider.
