Daredevil Reboot Loses Director, Fantastic Four Gets One

It looks like things got shook up at 20th Century Fox's brand of Marvel comic book movies. The upcoming reboot of Daredevil has apparently lost director, David Slade. However, one of Fox's other reboot projects, Fantastic Four has gained some ground by scoring director, Josh Trank.

Most fans are likely in the mindset of hoping that all of Marvel Comics' film properties can be corralled back under the unifying Marvel Studios banner, so that quality can be improved and crossover potential with the other films would be available. However, as we've recently seen with the rather quick reboot effort of The Amazing Spider-Man over at Sony, the studios seem to be moving forward with these projects to not only anchor the film rights, but strike while the comic book iron is hot with The Avengers making ungodly box-office grosses and The Dark Knight Rises also looking to do the same starting next week.

Where do projects like Daredevil and Fantastic Four lie in the equation?

The sci-fi epic series has survived several near-cancellations and schedule changes to emerge for its fifth and final season. Now, you can help celebrate with stars, Anna Torv, Joshua Jackson, Lance Reddick, Blair Brown, Jasika Nicole, and John Noble, who will all be on hand along with the show's exec producers to present a sneak peak at the new season, answer your questions, and settle the issue of whether sensory-deprivation unlocks psychic powers. (Well, maybe the other stuff, anyway.)

How will Olivia, Peter, and Walter fight the impending invasion from the time-traveling race of Observers who want to subject mankind to slavery, shaved heads, and sensible suits?

Find out at the San Diego Convention Center in Hall H on July 15!

Captain America Sequel Narrows Down Directors

It seems that Marvel Studios has narrowed down its candidates to direct the upcoming second Captain America solo film. The media blitzkrieg is getting ready to go full force with The Avengers on May 4, but Marvel is also focusing on a little matter of the other Avengers-related movies, specifically the sequel to last year's blockbuster, Captain America: The First Avenger.

According to New York Magazine's Vulture, the job is now between The Adjustment Bureau helmer, George Nolfi, Law Abiding Citizen and Be Cool helmer, F. Gary Gray (who may get some sympathy since his name is so self-deprecating,) and finally, the brotherly duo of Joe Russo and Anthony Russo, whose directorial work on television on Community, Happy Endings, and Arrested Development make them rather curious choices for this mega-action epic.

It will certainly be interesting to see where the unfrozen juiced-up super-patriot winds up after having tangled with Norse Gods and alien invaders. -- A reunion with Hugo Weaving's Red Skull? Maybe a throwdown with Baron Zemo? Perhaps a beatdown is in order to his comic book killer, Crossbones?
