Not Just Another Cat Video

Moye
Posted July 17, 2012 - By Moye Ishimoto

You can't just film and upload any cat video anymore. Cat videos have to be special, unique, outside the box, anything that will set it apart from the crowd--like this video...We think. As soon as we can figure it out.

How awkward is it when a child asks you about death? And you have to tell them about body decomposition and how there's no afterlife? At least there's a happy song about it.

Tuxman: Worst Friends Ever?

Moye
Posted April 19, 2012 - By Moye Ishimoto

Premise: a guy passes out and his friends proceed to cover his body with permanent mark and make a funny video out of it.

Verdict: Best viral video ever or worst friends ever?

Attack Of The Staff: Wesley Thomas, Production ManagerHometown: Greenville, Texas
Position: Production Manager
Favorite Season: Justified Season 2
Least Favorite Nickname: Too long of a story.

What do you do on AOTS?

I make sure that the ideas the producers come up with happen. I make sure that the actors, props, wardrobe, etc. are all ready and present. Then, I make sure they all get paid.

What is your favorite moment from the show?

The giant video game, the first thing I helped put together on the show.

Do you have any passions outside of working at G4?

None, I sleep. Actually, anything powered by an engine; cars, planes, boats.

So, how's it hanging?/ What it is?

Tiredly.

Attack Of The Staff: Brendan Lahr, Production AssistantHometown: Potomac, MD
Position: 2B, I mean Production Assistant
Favorite Season: The best seasonal brews come out in summer
Least Favorite Nickname: Everyone here calls me “Blahr,” but it just sounds like slimer from Ghost Busters.

What do you do on AOTS?

As a PA, a pinch of everything; grabbing web videos and pages for different segments, producing the ten-second bumps in between commercial breaks, managing interns, fetching lunch and coffee orders, running around in a pink unitard, etc.

What is your favorite moment from the show?

Being crowned Wiffle Bat Fight Club champion was fun, but anytime we do anything “…in sixty seconds,” it ends up real funny.

Do you have any passions outside of working at G4?

Our national pastime, roasting vegetables, cutting holes in the d-floor.

So, how's it hanging?/ What it is?

It’s not hanging, it’s flying.

Attack Of The Staff: Andrew Zilch, Segment ProducerHometown: Litchfield, Minnesota
Position: Segment Producer
Favorite Season: Deadwood, Season 3
Least Favorite Nickname: Well, let’s see. My last name is “Zilch”, so…how much time do you have?

What do you do on AOTS?
Most recently I’ve produced segments like DVDuesday, Rides, Whips & Hoons, and Green Tech.

What is your favorite moment from the show?
Every time Kevin weaves a Lemon Party reference into the show.

Do you have any passions outside of working at G4?
Is that allowed?

Attack Of The Staff: Jeremy Hache, Segment ProducerHometown: Boston
Position: Segment Producer
Favorite Season: Summer
Least Favorite Nickname: Hash

What do you do on AOTS

I’ve done a lot in my time on AOTS, everything from writing The Feed ticker, to producing Gems of the Internet with Sarah Lane and numerous segments since then. Nowadays, I mostly just produce Around the Net, Cinema Enema and our Friday show. I also talk about dragons sometimes.

What is your favorite moment from the show?

I can’t remember past the weeks ago so I’ll have to go with Cancer Cat. I love how cool he was.

Do you have any passions outside of working at G4?

I spend a lot of time playing video games, reading, playing amateur baseball and watching the Red Sox on my iPad when not at work.

Merrie SwainHometown: Detroit, MI
Position: Production Assistant
Favorite Season: Spring… anything but summer, really.  Summer is evil to gingers.  All that nasty sunlight everywhere, it’s disgusting.
Least Favorite Nickname: “Mer.”  How is shortening my already short name attractive at all?  Is it really that hard to pronounce two syllables?  Be more creative, people!

What do you do on AOTS?

A zillion tons of paperwork that never ends, EVER. I’m shocked that my desk stays decently organized with all the various stacks of paper that pile up.

What is your favorite moment from the show?

I’m a sucker for awkward situations and hilarious train wrecks. I think I peed a little when Gilbert Gottfried was interviewed.

Do you have any passions outside of working at G4?

I model occasionally for fantastic photographers; otherwise I’m very passionate about dive bars and napping.

Nik VisgerHometown: Santa Clara, CA
Position: Associate Producer
Favorite Season: Spring, (best time of the year sports-wise)
Least Favorite Nickname: “The Nik” (nobody calls me that, but if they did it would surely be my least favorite nickname)

What do you do on AOTS?

I watch a lot of internet videos. I produce Around the Net, Epic Fail, What Happens Next, and Great Moments in De-Ev. Did I mention that I am also one of the prestigious members of the live studio audience? It’s pretty glamorous stuff.

What is your favorite moment from the show?

When James Cameron beat the $&!# out of Drunkle Ted or when James Cameron made a cameo on Jeremy’s Dragon Corner to teach us about proper space dragon sex. Pretty much anytime James Cameron shows up is my favorite moment. I hold the 1,000th Episode close to my heart as well. I had just joined AOTS as a production assistant at the time and it was a perfect introduction to the madness that is Attack of the Show.

Attack of the Staff: Sean Poole, Production AssistantHometown: The small town of Snohomish, WA.
Position: Production Assistant
Favorite Season: My favorite season is the beginning of fall, because it’s still sunny outside and all the best TV shows start back up again.
Least Favorite Nickname: A former intern gave me the nickname “Seanald” once upon a time and I can’t stand it, haha.

What do you do on AOTS?

My favorite question from any producer is, “Are you busy right now,” because as a PA, I am always busy. I’m constantly running around doing something, whether it’s feeding the hosts, being in ATN comedy bits, grabbing videos from the web, directing interns, shooting video for segments or writing the occasional Attack This script from time to time.

What is your favorite moment from the show?

I always crack up when the show goes off the tracks. As one of the few live television shows left, AOTS really shines when it messes up. When we accidentally aired Masterpiece Theatre at the beginning of the show or when we flashed a quick second of Vin Diesel holding a shot gun in the middle of an ATN comedy. I think that’s pure hilarity!
