Eventhough ME2 won game of the year, it's easy to see that Limbo was the real winner!! Which is a great thing, because that game was simply amazing. To play a game with no music and with such a dark noir look and appeal made the game not exactly feel scary but it gave the player a really dark outlook on the world you play in. Almost this feeling of dispair while you play. I think they created a masterpiece with Limbo, and obviously the Xplay staff felt the same way.

Limbo really deserved all those rewards, I'm glad it got those.
And I'm happy that Star Craft 2 didn't win game of the year but that it won best multiplayer, because in truth that's what it is best multiplayer but not the best game.

The fact that Limbo won 4 awards makes me sick. Really, best Art directon? Best downloadable game? etc.. I bought into the hype and was so upset I spent $15 on it. This makes me lose respect for a lot of fellow gamers and xplay staff. Plus the fact that a handful of 3 out 5 games were nominated was sad. I'm glad Mass Effect 2 won game of the year but was sickened by Morgan's bias towards Starcraft 2. Whenever it won an award its as if she wanted to jump up and down and when it didn't win game of the year she got sad and then brought up about characters she hated in Mass Effect 2. I think its time for Morgan to go. She seems to only play RTS's and seems disinterested in any other genre.

Going back to Limbo now, best Art direction is a joke and the main reason people should not be allowed to vote. The only thing that game did for me was allow me to see how my dogs see, in black white and gray. Sorry to the Limbo lovers but it hurts to say sorry because imo its the most overhyped and rated game of all time just because it was different.

Usually I don't get upset on here or in general but I just felt the need to express my feelings and not keep them inside, don't want my bp getting too high.

Meh. Don't see what's so great about Mass Effect 2. Congrats on the other winners!

I'm a huge fan of Splinter Cell Conviction. Just saying it should have at least been nominated or mentioned.

Best Shooter is Battlefield: Bad Company 2, hands-down. 10x better and less absolute BS than what passes in any CoD game. Might not be the best single-player game but it does best what the whole genre was made for, competitive multiplayer.

I watched this but after a while I got bored so stop watching and figured I'd see the winners on the site. Ironically I stopped watching right when Blair Hearder said they wouldn't announce GOTY until the end of the show and that they would make us watch the whole show to see who one guess he was wrong

I thought this was the Limbo Awards for a second... Wow. Was it left out of GOTY simply because you thought it was better than ME2?

And did anyone besides G4 see NBA 2k11 walking away with wins in categories other than Best Sports Game? That was a shocker; when you consider how beautiful its competition was (it wouldn't be my choice, despite it's near realism).

I was surprised to see GOW and AC walking away empty handed. Both were fantastic titles.

Lastly, I find it odd that Kinect won for best innovation... for something that *might* happen with its tech in the future. Really? We're giving out awards based on predictions and forecasts? So far, I've seen nothing truly innovate about it, or how it's changed the face of gaming. Sure it has potential, but it's hardly revolutionary (at this time).

Otherwise I thought this was a good crop of winners.

I like both Mass Effect 2 and StarCraft 2, so I don't really care which one is GOTY, although I might be biased to SC2 more. I beat ME2 twice clocking 25 hours. I've clocked 300+ hours on SC2.
