Morrigan disapproves, and I am frankly appalled. Should have seen this idiocy coming, though. When Adam gave Dragon Age a 5 out of 5 (after a review consisting of "I hate the load screen" & "Look, the combat is paused")he acted like someone offscreen was holding a gun on him. Then the Holiday Buyer's Guide gave Dragon Age a 3 second "you might want to try" less than honorable mention. Fine, they don't like the game. The default position should have been Demon's Souls. But, boo hoo, it was too hard. The decision to give Best RPG to Bowser (really? Bowser??)was IMHO a complete travesty. Loss of credibility? You bet.

can you tell me what qualifies Mario and Luigi as an RPG here? cuz im still a little gray as to why Dragon Age wasn't the winner... i've spent weeks playing this damn game and i still haven't lost my attraction to it

I had a minor aneurysm when I saw this. . . I mean Dragon Age is a serious RPG, Mario and Luigi: rectal examination (or whatever ) is far from being serious; in fact I'm not sure it should be called an RPG! It doesn't have 1 tenth the scope that Dragon Age has. . . I guess, I would have taken this better if DA had lost to a game that was of at least more or less the same caliber; Like Demon's Souls. . . but whatever, I know complaining about it wont change anything, at least I can take solace in knowing that I'm not the only one who thinks this category was horrendously botched.

A pocket Rpg... beat out Dragon age as well as Demon soul. Is it just me... or dose G4 not really care about Rpg's in general and just rolled a 5 sided dice in order to get this over and done with.
Sure this wasn't the gem's you all so 'seem' to favor *cough Modern warfare 2 Cough Uncharted 2 Cough*
You just might not be that type of gamer, which is understandable... This is like looking at Platinum & Gold then passing it over too an apple.

My jaw hit the floor when i saw that the winner wasn't Dragon Age. I mean really, the game is in a class all by itself.

Demons Sould was my personal favorite but Dragon Age was incredibly impressive. Was this simply a "lets placate the people with nintendo products" in what to me, personally, looked like a horrible year for nintendo gamers across the boards.

yeah, um.. no. i loved mario and luigi, but it definitely holds nothing against dragon age. in fact, i got bored with the game and never had the motivation to finish! i get that it's innovative and whatnot, and definitely a great RPG, but Dragon Age definitely deserved to win in this one. I'm surprised it didn't take home any honors at all! :(

Bah, Dragon Age Origins was a great game. Terrific, & I think it should have won RPG GOTY.
But, hey, it didn't Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story did, and ya know what? It's a great game. Sure, it's not a serious RPG, but very well made. Breaks the mold, tries & suceeds in many new things, ands well worth playing & re-playing. So while I'm upset that DA:O didn't win, I'm not upset that M&L did.
