Holiday Buyers Guide 2009: Top Downloads

By Dana Vinson - Posted Nov 24, 2009

Hey, it's not lazy to gift people with DLC this holiday season. Just tell them you're getting them in on the wave of the future, and quietly celebrate the idea that you'll have more time to do some gaming of your own. Check out these downloads, presented by Adam Sessler and Morgan Webb, and including Guitar Hero: The Touch, Burnout Paradise, Fallout 3: Broken Steel, Fable 2 and GTAIV: The Ballad of Gay Tony.

And, for good measure, we've provided some downloadable games in their entirety, including Shatter, Battlefield:1943, flOwer, Plants vs Zombies and Shadow Complex. Just in case you want to get whole games for those you love, instead of cheaping out and getting them DLC.

    I bought Plants vs. Zombies last week, and it's amazing! So addicting, too! I beat the Adventure mode, unlocked all the other modes, got all of the trophies in Puzzle mode, got all but 2 trophies in the Minigames, and I beat 2 of the Survival stages, with at least 8 left to go! And with modes like Zen Garden, Survival, and Endless puzzles, you could play this forever!

    Burnout Paradise was a blast and added a load of fun. Shadow Complex was very good, especially if you enjoyed the old school Metroid games. I unlocked Broken Steel but I've got way more to do before getting to that quest. ><</safety_wrapper> ;
