[10:58] Stephen Johnson: "Welcome all, to the LOST panel at Comic-Con 2009. I'm your host, Stephen Johnson. Good morning, y'all."
[10:59] Stephen Johnson: "The number of people in line for this panel had to be over 8,000 people. There is a SEA of fans at Comic-Con this year."
[11:01] Stephen Johnson: "Here's some Lost/G4 crossover trivia question while we wait for the panel to start: Which LOST actress worked for G4, as a tech-product model?"
[11:03] Stephen Johnson: "Give Up? Evangeline Lilly appeared on G4, pre-Lost!"
[11:03] Stephen Johnson: "To answer Ray Padilla's question: There were more people lined up for Twilight than anything at Comic-Con, even this panel. But today is the highest attendance day at the Con, so it should be nuts later on."
[11:05] Stephen Johnson: "Panel is starting with a clip... mmmm."
[11:06] Stephen Johnson: "According to the video: 2010 is the final season."
[11:06] Stephen Johnson: "Fake commercial for "Lost University""
[11:07] Stephen Johnson: "Www.lostuniversity.com"
[11:07] Stephen Johnson: "A new ARG?"
[11:08] Stephen Johnson: "Video is a 70s style documentary about Dharma. "
[11:08] Stephen Johnson: "The fake show: "Mysteries of the Universe: The Dharma Initiative.""
[11:09] Stephen Johnson: "And then another video... clips from the show."
[11:10] Stephen Johnson: "Quick cuts... sadly, too fast to really give you much meaning or spoilers."
[11:10] Stephen Johnson: "Now, the executive producers of Lost are taking the stage."
[11:10] Stephen Johnson: "Damon Lindenlot and Carlton Cuse."
[11:11] Stephen Johnson: "The theme of the panel: Fan Appreciation."
[11:12] Stephen Johnson: "They're showing some fan films! That's amazing."
[11:13] Stephen Johnson: "Including a hysterical fan film where Jack gets an Xbox red-ring!"
[11:14] Stephen Johnson: "And some Sawyer/Jack slash film-making."
[11:14] Stephen Johnson: "All of it is hysterically awesome."
[11:16] Stephen Johnson: "Cuse: Says the show is not making it up as they go along... the final scene of the show is written... and the exec. producers are showing off the physical pages of the script."
[11:17] Stephen Johnson: "They're locking the pages into a box for the audience. It will be taken to an undisclosed location, and, on the night of the series final, the executive producers will be on Jimmy Kimmel Live and will open the box and read the scene verbatim."
[11:17] Stephen Johnson: "They are giving a prize to any fan who says a secret word."
[11:19] Stephen Johnson: "Fan question: Season 6 was said to have some similarities to Season 1. What does that mean? A: As soon as we were able to work toward an endpoint, we were closing a loop in certain ways. You'll see many characters you haven't seen since the first season."
[11:20] Stephen Johnson: ""It's our goal for you to watch the final season and not know what we're going to do next.""
[11:22] Stephen Johnson: "Go to DamonCarltonandapolarbear.com"
[11:24] Stephen Johnson: "Fan asks: Is there chance we'll see Faraday happily married next year. The producers say, basically, he's dead, so probably not, but Faraday will be on the show next season."
[11:25] Stephen Johnson: "Fan asks is season 6 will have flashbacks, specifically childhood flashbacks. According to the producers, the time-travel season is over, the flash-forward season is over, and they're doing something different."
[11:26] Stephen Johnson: "More fan made stuff. Right now, they're going to play some fan-made LOST theme music."
[11:27] Stephen Johnson: "After the song, we're going to "hear a few words from our sponsors..." I wonder who is "sponsoring" the panel?"
[11:28] Stephen Johnson: "Ha! An Oceanic airlines commercial. Followed by a Mr. Clucks commercial, starring Hurley."
[11:29] Stephen Johnson: "And then a clip from America's Most Wanted... ha ha! It's an episode about escaped murder Kate!"
[11:31] Stephen Johnson: "Hurley is playing a "fan" and asking a question! Ha ha!"
[11:31] Stephen Johnson: "Hurley asks whether Jack was able to actually prevent the plane crash, because it would wipe away the last 5 seasons and that "would be a cheat.""
[11:32] Stephen Johnson: "The producers say: "You have to trust us, Jorge.""
[11:33] Stephen Johnson: "Hurley: Are you going to answer all the questions? A: We're going to answer all the questions that matter."
[11:34] Stephen Johnson: "Ha ha! Ben Linus (Michael Emerson) shows up and makes fun of Jorge Garcia. Joking about the "vast gulf" between the actor Garcia and the character of Hurley."
[11:35] Stephen Johnson: "Garcia says the real reason Michael is upset is because "Michael wanted to play Hurley.""
[11:37] Stephen Johnson: "They're showing a Michael Emerson audition tape... he's auditioning for Hurley! Dressed in the t-shirt, with a bandana, and even dropping the word "dude" every five seconds. It's the scene from the 1st season when Hurley meets Sayid."
[11:39] Stephen Johnson: "Question from a fan: When will get a Richard Alpert flashback, and does it have to do with the Black Rock in the middle of the island. A: We'd be remiss if we didn't give you Richard's back-story."
[11:40] Stephen Johnson: "Fan: I cried like a sissy when Juliette fell. Is she okay? And if not, can you make her okay? A: It hinges on whether her detonating the bomb had its desired effect. If it worked, she'd be okay, if it didn't... But Elizabeth Mitchell will be in the final season of LOST."
[11:42] Stephen Johnson: "A planted audience member asks a time travel paradox question, and his nose starts to bleed. It's Bob Stencil. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_Stencil"
[11:44] Stephen Johnson: "We're getting video of Nester putting on eye-liner. This is way deep Lost fan insider stuff, eh?"
[11:45] Stephen Johnson: "That's Nestor Carbonell, of course."
[11:46] Stephen Johnson: "A fan (who looks likes Hurley) asks: What made the food drop in Season 2? Jorge Garcia: It comes from planes. The producers say that that is something that might be dealt with."
[11:48] Stephen Johnson: "Another Hurley look-alike asks about how much of a role Dharma will play this season. Not a huge one, according to the producers. They're working on other stuff."
[11:49] Stephen Johnson: "Fan asks a simple yes or no question: Has Jacob has ever appeared as any other image than himself, such as Claire or other characters? "Claire" is the secret word, so this guy gets a Lost prop: A representation of the seagull Claire released in season 2, with the actual note. The answer to the question: NO."
[11:50] Stephen Johnson: "The panelists are thanking the people who put together the panel. And it really was one of the most enjoyable, amusing comic-con panel I've seen, and I've seen a LOT of them."
[11:52] Stephen Johnson: "There's one more special guest: After a Sawyer montage, Josh Holloway shows up on stage!"
[11:54] Stephen Johnson: "Josh pretend to take a taser to the executive producers to get into the box with the final scene."
[11:55] Stephen Johnson: "They're opening the box...Sawyer takes the script.. and reads... but he doesn't have his glasses. So Ben Linus reads a scene about a burning circus tent."
[11:56] Stephen Johnson: "Ha ha ha! It's a script for Heroes! Very, very funny."
[11:56] Stephen Johnson: "And now, the producers are wrapping it up... it was sort of born at comic-con. The pilot was shown here, before anyone knew what Lost was."
[11:57] Stephen Johnson: "The producers point out that Lost is not a lowest common denominator show."
[11:57] Stephen Johnson: "And we get a montage of everyone who died on the island. From season one on"
[12:02] Stephen Johnson: "Then, Charlie shows up in the flesh to wish us all goodbye! The Ukulele Over the rainbow plays and the Lost Panel ends. Hope you enjoyed it. That was the most fun panel ever, although not all that many secrets or spoilers were revealed. Thanks for hanging out with me!"
