| Continue on the last World - When you die, wait for the player selection menu to pop up and hold down the A button and hit start. You’ll start on the first level of the last world you were on.
Extra Lives - Find any area with steps and a hard-shelled enemy. Wait until they are positioned right above you, then jump on him. You’ll bounce on top for a whole cat’s worth of extra lives. Flag Pole Fireworks - You’ll get the corresponding number of fireworks if you hit the flag pole at the end of each level with the time ending in 1, 3, or 6. Jump Over Flag Pole - Go to the end of World 3-3 as small Mario to the balance beam right before the flag pole. If you time your jump just right, you’ll be able to hit the balance beam on the right at its apex and jump over the flag pole. Mario Slide - Whenever Mario has Flower Power, hold down the B button and jump when you come out of a pipe or start a new level. Negative World (World 36) - Go to world 1-2 and break the bricks near the exit, but leave the one to the right alone. Then, if you went to the edge of the pipe and jumped backwards while crouched down, Mario will walk thru the wall. Enter the first pipe on the left and you’ll find yourself in the negative world. Small and Fiery - Go to any boss level as big Mario and stand next to the axe. Wait for the fake Bowser to come as close as possible then time your jump so you hit both axe and Bowser simultaneously. Done correctly, Mario will flash but remain super-sized. After that, every time you eat a mushroom, you’ll turn small instead of big and you’ll also be able to shoot fireballs when you grab a sunflower as small Mario. Warp Tubes - Go to end of world 1-2 and reach the top by using the rising platforms and run pass the exit. You’ll find three tubes that’ll take you to world 2, 3, and 4. Go to world 4-2 and go where three blocks can be seen. Jump up and you’ll reveal hidden blocks that’ll take you to world 6, 7, or 8. Go to the end of world 4-2 and reach the top of the platforms and you’ll be able to run pass the exit. There you will see one tube that’ll take you to world 5. |
| Second Quest - To begin the second quest from the start, enter the “Zelda” as your character name in the main menu.
Save Menu - To quickly save the game, hit start on controller one and then hit Up and A at the same time on controller two to bring up the secret save menu. Magic Whistle glitch - If you face up or to the right when you blow on the magic whistle. It’ll take you to dungeons in a numerical order. Facing down or to the left will have the opposite effect. Money Glitch - Go to the graveyard and hit the first ghost as many times it takes before you kill him. Use your boomerang to stun him and make more ghosts appear. When you can’t materialize any more, hit the first ghost you’ve kept stun and collect all the money. Dungeon One Door Glitch - Right when you enter dungeon one, go back outside and re-enter. The door on top will open up without having to use a key. |
| Continue in areas 11 and 12 - On the second controller press Down, then Up when the select menu pops up in the main menu. Then hit start on controller one to start over in level 11 or 12.
Different Ship - Press A and B at the same time before you hit the start button to beginning playing with a different type of ship. Stage Select - Press the Reset button thirteen times and then use the D pad to select the level. |
