- Sit comfortably.
- Envision your goal.
- Start Painter afresh for every project.
- Simplify your palette arrangement.
- Always work on a clone copy.
- Mount your canvas (Cmd/Ctrl + M).
- Save versions frequently. Use Save As.
- Be consistent and organized in naming your creations.
- Be committed to your brush strokes.
- Paint from the heart.

- Fill your canvas with brush strokes.
- Make brush strokes that follow form.
- Make a painting with one brush only.
- Paint with your unfavored hand.
- Make Clone and Save As buttons.
- Select All before recording a script.
- Always paint with tone, whatever the color.
- Use Adjust Colors effect to see tone.
- Expect the "ugly" stage.
