Morgan Webb

Having been deprived of cable all her young life (in a pitiful attempt by her parents to drive her out of the house to get some sun), Morgan Webb -- the new co-host of TechTV's hot gaming show "X-Play" -- made up for lost hours of TV time with videogames. She began with an Atari, where she mastered "Combat" at an amazingly young age.

The Atari went to videogame heaven, technology progressed, and so did her taste. "Legend of Zelda" and "Phantasy Star" were two of her favorites, mostly because Morgan's then-immature motor skills were not a handicap in games that relied more on determination than reflexes.

Morgan began practicing in secret in order to prevail against her brother (who is two years older and therefore more talented at everything) in such reflex-based classics as "Contra," "Altered Beast," and "Metroid." Her ambitious program yielded impressive results and her brother cowered in fear before her skills.

Morgan kept her love of videogames alive, mostly because her parents never got cable until after she left home to attend UC Berkeley. While there, Morgan earned a degree in rhetoric with a minor in Italian.

No, she doesn't remember that much Italian.

In her spare time, Morgan likes to hang out with friends, eat good food, and do doughnuts.
